Dream street était l'idée de personnelle de Louis Boldonieri et Brian Lukuy en 1999.
Ils ont rêvés d'une bande de garçon pop avec du talent et les audition pour "les garçons recherchés" ont ainsi commençé.
Cinq garçons ont été choisi parmi 200 qui ont tenté leur chance: Grégory Raposo, Christopher trousdale, Franck.J.Galasso, Matthew Ballinger et Jesse McCartney. Ils ont travaillé pendant des mois comme des fous pour des société mais ont été rejeté partout car ils étaient trop jeunes.
Mais ils n'ont jamais perdu espoirs. Ils laissent 3 des garçons partir mais gardent Greg et Chris et les audditions recommencent. Ils élimient de nombreux espoirs des 200 du départ, pour ne plus en avoir que 25, puis 8 et enfin 5: Greg, Chris, Franckie, Jesse et Matt. Ils ont rapidement signé avec la maison de disque: Lava/Atlantic Records et ils ont commençé les concert seulement quelques mois après. Et les dream street sont nés le 6 mai 1999. Dream Street a été aidé par l'équipe de Cosgrove&Clark, auteur-compositeur des chansons de succés comme Jennifer Paige avec "crush" et Amanda Via avec "Picture Perfect".
Le premier single du groupe a cependant était écrit par le compositeur Suédois Jörgen Eloffson, l'auteur de "Sometimes" et "Crazy" de Britney Spears. Ou par d'autres auteurs-compositeurs comme Johnny Jam & Delgado, Steve Diamond....... Mais même avec toutes ces grandes chansons, ce qui distingue vraiment les dream street des autres est leur dance. La chorégraphe brésillienne Claudia Swan a apris la dance depuis 13 ans et elle a travaillé pour les dream street du début à la fin.
Quoiqu'ils n'aient jamais atteint le statue de Supernova de NSync ou des BackStreet Boy, les dream street ont tirés le profit de leur part juste de la gloire. Dans un sondage national, ils ont été élu 3ème des artistes Pop les plus populaires-execo avec NSync mentionné ci-dessus. Les dream street avaient le plaisir de jouer à de tels rendez-vous que Miss Teen USA, the Nassau Coliseum, the Trump Taj Mahal... Ils ont chantés avec Britney Spears, Aaron Carter et Nobby's Angel.
Ils ont aussi eut leur visages sur de nombreux magazines, les plataux McDonalds, les boîtes de Lunchable, les coeurs de Valentin Candy et les boîtes de céréales Kellogg
La seule chose triste dans la carrière des dream street fut sa fin. Le groupe, juste invité pour la gloire atroce, comme un procés: les garçons et leur parents contre leur manager, DSE. Plus tard dans leur procés, c'est devenu DSE et la famille Trousdale contre les 4 garçons et leurs parents. Le procés a duré presque 5 mois et a été déchirant tant pour les membres de dream street que pour leurs fans. Le procés a fini le 7 aout 2002, en faveur de DSE. Cette fan est devenu connu aux fans comme le jour ou " la musique est morte ".
